Last summer it was a flake shortage, this year it's bouncy castles!
School is (almost) out for summer and that means three months of keeping the kids entertained.
But if you've been thinking about letting them tucker themselves out in a bounce house in the garden, you might want to start thinking of alternative plans.
Parents are being warned of a shortage of bouncy castles to hire for communion and confirmation parties.
Pent up demand because of Covid disruptions has led to an increase in demand for inflatable's.
Carina Legwork, who runs the family business Magic Bouncy Castle, says she's constantly hearing from disappointed parents:
"We started having bookings a good two months in advance at first. And still we also get last minute calls, even this morning I had a few calls for this coming weekend for a cancellation. Demand is very high this year".
You could say - the phone lines have been hopping.
