Joe Biden raised some eyebrows on the first day of his visit to the Republic of Ireland
The US President visited Dundalk yesterday as part of his three day trip to the Republic of Ireland.
Despite the poor weather, large crowds turned out to see Biden roll into town, where he went on a bit of a walkabout before stopping to say a few words.
And that's when it happened.
During his speech, the President paid tribute to the Irish Rugby team and in particular Rob Kearney, who is actually a distant cousin to Biden.
Referring to the Irish team's historic win over the All Blacks in Chicago in 2016 - he made a bit of a blunder with the New Zealand rugby team's nickname:

Luckily, the room, and most of the nation saw the humour in the unfortunate mistake, and it's even reflected in the White House's official transcript of the speech:
