A woman in Lincoln, Nebraska went to extreme measures to help herself get over an ex-boyfriend as she decided to burn his love letters in her apartment.
A risky enough way of moving on, especially if you add a butane torch and an impromptu nap into the mix.
The 19-year-old torched the letters on her bedroom floor and then went for a quick nap while the letters were still smoldering.
She woke up to find her carpet fully ablaze and immediately called the fire brigade.
The fire fighters were able to deal with the issue within minutes and quickly put out the flames without trouble.
The woman's apartment was saved from being completely burnt to the ground, however, she has to pay a total of $4000 (USD) in damages to the building and has been cited for negligent burning.
