The products contain excessive amounts of nicotine
One of Ireland's leading anti-smoking campaigners says proposed legislation on the sale of vaping products does not go far enough.
The comments come after the HSE issued a warning over the sale of two vaping products which contain excessive amounts of nicotine.
They are: McKesse Green Apple MK Bar 7000 disposable and Blue and Razz Ice MK Bar 7000 disposable.
Dr. Luke Clancy of the Tobacco-Free Research Institute, says the proposed legislation will make no difference whatsoever on the sale of vaping products to people under the age of 18.
He added, "We really have no effective legislation now and I'm not very confident that the legislation coming in will be very effective.
"Even in its primary objective which is to stop people under the age of 18 but they'll still be allowed flavours and they'll still have this packaging and we'll wonder how effective this will be."
