Let's put an end to food waste

Throwing away perfectly good food something that none of us like to do, especially when so many in our communities are in need.

That’s why in 2013, Tesco became the founding partner of FoodCloud. Each night, in Tesco stores across Ireland, staff go from shelf to shelf collecting perfectly good food that would otherwise go to waste, and donate that surplus food to local organisations who really need it.

Over 40,000 meals are donated weekly to more than 260 good local groups such as family resource centres, soup kitchens, children’s breakfast clubs, elderly support groups and so many more.

By 2020, Tesco’s commitment is that no good food will go to waste from their stores, but to do this, they need your help.

You can suggest a local cause at www.tesco.ie/NoTimeForWaste or by contacting us here at iRadio.

So if you know of an organisation in your community that distributes food to those who need it, this is your chance to give something back!

Tesco and iRadio – no time for waste.
