The owner of Supermac's is reported to be interested in buying out Copper Face Jacks.

The Sunday Business Post reports Pat McDonagh is looking into buying the Jackson Court Hotel on Harcourt Street and its famous nightclub.

Owner Cathal Jackson put it on the market last week - and it's believed it may sell for as much as €40 million.

The newspaper quotes Galway native, McDonagh, as saying "it has a special place in a lot of relationships, especially for those from the rural community".

It's not the first time reports have linked Supermac's with Coppers.

In 2016, Supermac's sent out an April Fools press release, claiming it was going to open a branch of the fast-food chain in the night club.

But Colette Sexton of The Sunday Business Post says, "who knows? Patrons of Coppers could be eating snack boxes while dancing to Westlife yet."

Sounds like Pat would be the prime candidate to take over Ireland's most beloved night club...
