We’re sure this one will set the cat among the pigeons at your workplace...
There’s a growing movement in Ireland for companies to follow Japan’s lead and start offering non-smoking employees paid leave, to make up for the amount of time their smoking collegues spend on cigarette breaks.
Japenese company Piala Inc has already implemented the initiative and claim it's helped up to four-people quit smoking.
Around Twenty-five percent of Piala Inc’s non-smoking employee’s have taken time off through the scheme so far.
It’s said that the average smoke-break can take up to 15-minutes, meaning four breaks a day could lead to smokers spending an hour less time in work than non-smokers.
So it begs the question...do non-smokers deserve extra time off?
This is an interesting one...
