Ok, this is very exciting!
Touch wood...but apparently the fabled Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) might soon be visible across the entire Country.
Speaking to iRadio, founder and chairman of Astronomy Ireland, David Moore said that this weekend and even tonight is the best chance Ireland has had to see the lights in well over a decade!
''A huge explosion on the sun has provided the catalyst for what we hope is the astronomical event of the decade, Mr. Moore said.''
''These things can be very unpredictable, but this is definitely our best chance of seeing something since '03.''
He also said that while there is a chance we may see the lights tonight, the strongest chance will come tomorrow night and on Saturday.
''What you need to do to see the event is be awake any time from Sunset to Sunrise and hope for clear skies, I'll certainly be staying up,'' he said.
There will be a full moon tomorrow night, but Mr. Moore said that shouldn't matter as the light from the Aurora would still shine through.
Mr. Moore stressed that following Astronomy Ireland's Facebook and Twitter pages for updates was critical, you can find them here:

People wait their wholes lives to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights, so keep your eyes to the skies, and you might see something truly remarkable!
While there is no absolute guarantee this will happen, we will certainly have our fingers crossed! And our toes too...
Yes, Chalmers...
