Online charity shop 'Thriftify', which 93% of Irish charities have a presence on, has seen sales increase by 79% since this third lockdown began last December.
In the data released they found that fashion items are the most popular.
Thriftify was founded in 2018 by sustainability advocate Rónán ÓDalaigh as a platform for creating positive purchasing by connecting charity shops with consumers who care.
CEO Rónán Ó’Dalaigh says the increase in sales is down to a mix of consumers shopping more consciously and buying preloved items, as well as people missing a charity shop bargain.
The site is preparing for a UK launch and will launch in several other countries later on this year and will hire up to 20 new people in 2021.
