Very sad news.
Gardaí have opened an investigation after finding two dead bodies at a home on the outskirts of Kilkenny.
It has been revealed that the man was 83 and the woman was 79, but neither of the deceased's names have been made public.
Alarm was raised after family members reported the pair missing.
The bodies are expected to be removed to Waterford Regional Hospital later today.
An official cause of death has not been released.
Although RTE is reporting carbon monoxide poisoning is suspected.
