One of the stars of Derry Girls says the support from the first series has given them "validation".
It's after 1.8 million people watched the first episode of the second series on Channel 4 during the week.
Set during the Troubles, the show is biggest comedy launch for the network since 2004.
Channel 4 can also lay claim to hugely popular sitcom hits, such as Father Ted and The IT Crowd.
Siobhán McSweeney, who plays Derry Girls' Sister Michael, says it's a joy to work on:
"When I got the script I said, 'OK, I think we're safe', because what Lisa has done is mine the characters and the situation to create even richer story lines.
All of us, we feel more comfortable now, because we have the validation of the support of so many people who watched it first time around."
