David Gavin will finally return to Ireland tomorrow
THE funeral of David Gavin will take place at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, at 1pm this Friday.
The 26-year-old from Breaffy's remains will arrive into Dublin Airport on Wednesday, after they were discovered ten months after he went missing.
He tragically died in a swimming accident in Canada last summer, after jumping from a bridge at Kinbasket Lake in British Columbia on June 30 2017.
Parents Mick and Angela, sister Aoife and partner Ciara O’Malley, along with his team mates, extended family and the wider communities of Breaffy and Castlebar will attend the service.
The Gavin family delivered a message of thanks at Sunday’s Connacht Senior Football Quarter Final between Galway and Mayo over the PA system, thanking for the community for it's support.
The funeral Mass is due to take place at 3pm.
