”Come for one of us, you come for all of us.”
These were the extremely powerful words tweeted by actress Rose McGowan, as the fallout from the Harvey Weinstein scandal continues.
Weinstein has been subject to mass public ridicule, after a string of Hollywood actresses have come forward with sexual harassment claims against the disgraced movie mogul.
Rose has been a vocal advocate for women’s rights for a long time, and has been a leading voice in the outcry against Weinstein.
She reportedly sued the film executive after an alleged assault in 1997 at the Sundance Film Festival.
Now, she’s come out in defense of fellow accuser Lupita Nyong’o, after her claims of harassment were shot down by Weinstein’s representative.
Nyong’o, who won Best Supporting Actress for 2013’s ’12 Years A Slave’, recently penned a scathing op-ed for the New York Times, detailing her account of Weinstein’s questionable behavior.
However, Weinstein’s rep shot down the allegations, saying he has a ‘different recollection’ than Nyong’o.’
This is when Rose took to twitter in support of her fellow actress, tweeting the following:
Watch out HW, if you come for one of us, you come for all of us. #ROSEARMY #LupitaNyongo

She continued the tirade by adding: 'Dear Monster, here come the girls.'

Rose’s attitude is reflective of the current mood in Hollywood.
Actresses who have been victims of sexual abuse are finally being encouraged to speak out, in a bid to end the depravity and expose perpetrators.
It’s about time too, such behavior has no place in society, especially not among the Hollywood elite who many look to as role models.
It’s clear we need more women in show business like Rose, those who aren’t afraid to speak the truth and stand up for what’s right.
Perhaps thanks to trail blazers like her, that will soon be the norm.
