Warning: Colourful conditions ahead.
The roads of Ireland are about to get a whole lot more interesting…and it’s all for a great cause.
Cannonball, Europe’s largest organised road trip is coming to the Emerald Isle, and it’s going to be one hell of a party!
The road trip has become a staple on the Irish events calendar, and always provides the perfect tonic to a dreary September afternoon as it parades its way through streets and towns.
Year after year onlookers line the footpaths to get a glimpse of some of the most luxurious and iconic car models in the world.
Not to mention the many fun and zany car creations, striking big wheeled vehicles and all the general glitz and glamour that comes with the Cannonball experience.
Since its inception eight years ago, Cannonball Ireland has raised over 900,000 euro for Irish Charities and they’re looking to break the million mark in their ninth outing.
This year, donations will go to the Make a Wish Foundation Ireland, a very worthy cause indeed.
Hoping to catch a glimpse of the charismatic convoy?
Engines start up tomorrow, and day one will see the participants trek from Dublin all the way to Pery Square in Limerick.
Day two will see Galway, Claremorris and Sligo Town all get a taste.
Before the Cannonball comes to a halt at around 6:30pm on Sunday at Kilkenny Castle, after stopping by Mullingar and the Barack Obama Plaza on the way.
So if you’ve always wanted to see or even touch a Ferrari, Lamborghini or an Aston Martin in the flesh, this is your chance!
