Europe's top court will hear an appeal on the controversial case of Apple tax affairs in Ireland today.
The Irish government is accused of letting the tech giant away with a 13-point-1 billion euro tax underpayment.
A court ruled in 2020 that it was a lawful arrangement - but the European Commission has brought an appeal to the European Court of Justice.
The Taoiseach insists there never was a 'special deal' between the Irish government and Apple.
Leo Varadkar says he looks forward to the appeal being unsuccessful;
"If that were true it would've been very wrong. But it wasn't true."
"And not only do we say it's not true, Apple says it's not true and the European court that heard the case says it's not true."
"That's now in appeal and I look forward to that appeal being unsuccessful with the higher European court confirming the factual positions that there never was a special deal with Apple or any other company."
