190,600 people were out of work in December, a drop of more than 29,000 on the same time in 2014.
The unemployment rate stayed also steady at 8.8 per cent.
Meanwhile the Head of Enterprise Ireland Julie Sinnamon says it is working on future-proofing Irish exporters by focusing on new markets and technology.
The group has posted its best job results yet, with 10,000 jobs created by client companies in 2015, once job losses are factored in.
There are currently 192,000 people working in Enterprise Ireland companies, the highest number ever.
