TikTok is letting ‘a small number of employees’ go at its Dublin office.

It’s the latest tech firm to announce job cuts, after Twitter, Facebook and Google announced worldwide redundancies.

Labour Senator Marie Sherlock says it’s important to hear from the Government on its planning over the job losses.

She says the TikTok redundancies are a real concern.

‘Well obviously for the TikTok staff involved it’s a very worrying time but this is the latest on a string of announcements over recent weeks with regards to redundancies and future redundancies across a large number of tech firms and of course beyond and there are very real concerns now about those jobs but also about the companies that rely on the big tech firms for their jobs.’
