Queer Action Ireland's announced it will not take part in this year's Dublin Pride Parade because it's not happy about the involvement of Gardaí in the event.

Members of the force are preparing to take part in Dublin Pride on June 29th - uniformed officers will march in the parade for the first time, and a pair of Garda squad-cars have had a colourful makeover in preparation for it.

But Queer Action Ireland says the participation of Gardaí is in "direct opposition to the liberatory principles of Pride" as officers continue to target LGBTQ+ people, sex workers, migrants and other ethnic minority people.

Louise spoke to Eoin O'Faogain, spokesperson for Queer Action Ireland, to find out more and to ask about the alternative Pride they're hosting.
