Protests are taking place outside greyhound racing stadiums across the country.
It comes after a Prime Time Investigates programme raised serious concerns about animal welfare within the industry.
It provided evidence of the killing of nearly 6,000 healthy greyhounds annually, with much of this done inhumanely and illegally.
It also highlighted the widespread doping of dogs.
Greyhound racing is set to receive €16.8 million in funding this year, with supports coming from the Department of Agriculture.
Louise spoke to Nuala Donlon of Greyhound Action Ireland after she attended a demonstration outside Longford Greyhound Racing Stadium.
iRadio contacted the Irish Greyhound Board for comment but a spokesperson said there was no-one available for interview.
