A status yellow wind warning is now in place for Leinster, Munster and Galway, along with a separate rain warning for 5 other counties in Leinster.
An orange rain warning comes into effect for the south-west of the country at 9am.

‘Slow down and have a greater breaking distance between themselves and the person in front. I think it’s also important to note that people should take special care when driving behind goods vehicles as people know they produce considerable spray and that reduces visibility.’
