A sleep expert says your weekend lie-in could actually be ruining your sleep cycle.

That’s according to Dr. Aric Prather, author of The Seven Day Sleep Prescription.

He says ignoring natural cues to wake up such as daylight, upsets your circadian rhythm, making you feel more tired.

Dr. Prather advises people should get up at the same time on their days off, and immediately treat themselves to teach the body getting up is more rewarding than sleeping in.
