Good news for students who booked a J1 for the summer.
USIT has announced that most customers whose trips have been cancelled will be refunded.
The travel company went into liquidation in March following the coronavirus outbreak.
USIT specialises in student travel, volunteer and work abroad programmes, particularly the J1 scheme.
After being liquidated, the company, which employed 76 people, was bought by GenTAO Ltd, a company owned by previous USIT CEO Elaine Russell.
In a statement, liquidators said that "around 98%" of customers who have had trips cancelled would be able to avail of a refund.
Russell said; "expect a quiet summer this year due to the travel restrictions in place"
