Game of Thrones actor dies suddenly in Belfast

Andrew Dunbar reportedly died in his home on Christmas Eve.

Game of Thrones actor Andrew Dunbar died on Christmas Eve at his Belfast home. The Portrush native, who was in his thirties, was renowned on the set of the hit HBO show where he worked for years as an extra, reports Belfast Live. He was a body double for Theon Greyjoy, who is played by Alfie Allen in the series. Dunbar also made appearances in other hit shows including Line of Duty and worked as a DJ. Game of Thrones actor Andrew Dunbar passed away suddenly at his home in Belfast on Christmas Eve.

The actor was an extra on the hit show, as well as being a body double for Alfie Allen who played the role of Theon Greyjoy.

Andrew, 30, also starred in Line of Duty and Derry Girls.

A friend of Andrew, Graham Smith, shared a touching tribute to the star on Instagram saying;

"I saw him only a week ago and we hugged as he left, I’m grateful for that hug and I am grateful to have known him. He was one of the good ones.”

“Look after each other. If you need help, please talk to someone. Anyone. You are never alone”, he added.

The actor's funeral takes place in Belfast on Monday.
