He took to Twitter to clarify the incident.
In reply to a number of complaints ....
I am hurt beyond belief that @C4Gogglebox chose not to use me talking about my Father dying from a Heart Attack at the side of a road and replace it with a funny story following a young lad giving his Father CPR . Idiotic and cruel edit.— Eamonn Holmes (@EamonnHolmes) June 5, 2020

This Morning presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langford appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox on Friday night.
However, fans were left furious after the pair seemed to make jokes after a particularly harrowing clip was shown on screen.
The clip showed a young boy calling an ambulance after his father had a heart attack.
While waiting for the ambulance, the dad lost consciousness and appeared to be dead - but miraculously the young boy was able to perform CPR and revived him.
The clip then cut to Eamonn and Ruth joking about her going into labour with their son Jack in 2002.
Fans were quick to slate the pair on Twitter calling Eamonn an "idiot".
But, it seems like viewers only got half the story.
In a statement today, Eamonn said;
"I am hurt beyond belief that @C4Gogglebox chose not to use me talking about my Father dying from a Heart Attack at the side of a road and replace it with a funny story following a young lad giving his Father CPR . Idiotic and cruel edit."
How my Father died was a particularly horrible experience for my Mother , my younger brother and his friend who were all in the car .
The resuscitation in The BBC Ambulance programme was as close as could be to my Dad's passing.Yet I am the one edited to make it look like a laugh— Eamonn Holmes (@EamonnHolmes) June 5, 2020

Eamonn has since called on Studio Lambert, the company that produces Gogglebox to issue an official apology for the incident.
