Ireland has placed 13th out of 40 countries in its attractiveness for renewable energy investment.
EY compiled figures that show Ireland will shoot up to sixth when countries are adjusted for GDP.
The United States, China and Germany make up the top three on that list.
EY Ireland Head of Sustainability, Stephen Prendiville, explains the criteria for placing high on the list:
“Fundamentally, what the index is reflecting is the level of attractiveness of which capital can be diploid and turned into an operating asset in a particular jurisdiction.
“If you come towards your jurisdiction and you invest here then you’re very likely to realise your project in this country.”
