Ideal for those planning on interrailing in the coming years.
A French start-up company have announced their plans to run 'sleeper trains' across Europe.
Midnight Trains are aiming to connect Paris to 12 other European destinations.
We don't have a full list of all the cities just yet, but we'd imagine it'll include all the big destination.
Of course, the concept is not totally new. However, it is a bit of rejuvenation for more environmentally friendly travel.
Night trains in Europe had become less popular in recent times due to low-cost flights and long-distance buses.
However, public concerns over the climate emergency have led to a surge of interest in reviving such services.
Midnight Trains co-founder, Adrien Aumont, says his interest in the idea was inspired by both professional and personal reasons.
“I noted that people around me don’t want to get on a plane because of concerns about carbon emissions, but also my girlfriend is afraid of flying and decided she was never getting on a plane. I realised the only way travel was going to be possible was by train,” said Aumont.
He says they want people to embrace rail-travel over plane-travel:
"What we aim to do is to make people who want to travel in Europe hesitate to take the plane, to make a 90-minute flight a thing of the past," he said.
