People felt they were more selfless.
A survey was carried out in the US with 2,005 people taking part.
And the poll found that 7 out of 10 respondents said that 2020 made them a better person.
The survey was conducted by OnePoll in conjunction with Eyes of Hope, the charitable arm of VSP Global.
What uplifting results!
74% of participants said that 2020 made them more aware of the needs of others, and more selfless than ever before.
Other findings discovered, according to GNN:
- People reported being more likely to help a neighbour in need.
- 41% of people said they have helped a stranger cross the road.
- 38% said they have taken out their neighbour's bins.
- And 31% said they have walked their neighbour's dogs.
Part of it all could be down to the messaging around the pandemic of doing little things to keep each other safe.
As 72% said they felt they care about the health and well-being of others significantly more in the past year.
