Would you like to see an extra bank holiday for Irish people?
A former Tourism Minister has called for an extra Bank Holiday at the end of September.
Brendan Griffin has said it would be a boost for the hospitality sector after a very difficult year.
The Fine Gael TD appealed to the Taoiseach today to consider the measure.
Speaking in Dáil Éireann, Brendan Griffin explained why it'd be beneficial:
"I do think that once children go back to school next September, we will see a major fall off in relation to the domestic market", he said.
"And I think a bank holiday at the end of September would be very, very helpful".
Asked Taoiseach @MichealMartinTD today for a September bank holiday to help the hospitality sector. One of many ideas & proposals that could all help. Thanks to @EoghanOMW & @Irishtourismind for raising this with me recently. Didn’t happen last year but hopefully it will in 2021. pic.twitter.com/7Lni4UwD9H

The Kerry TD also joked about people from his county usually having an unofficial bank holiday saying:
"In Kerry we've traditionally had a bank holiday at the end of September most years when we'd win the All-Ireland but we haven't had one for a few years now".
