Pop Star Shayne Ward Chats With iRadio

Aidan and Oonagh caught up with 'the triple threat' Shayne Ward for an entertaining chat. They spoke with Shayne about his time on Coronation Street to upcoming movie roles and his charity single for the NHS.

Best known for his award winning role as Aidan Connor in Coronation Street from 2015 to 2018. Shayne rose to
fame as the winner of the second series of The X Factor. Shayne is no stranger to the charts when his 2006 self
titled album debuted at #1 on both the UK and Irish charts going 4x Platinum in Ireland and Platinum in the UK.
With two hit singles under his belt “No Promises” and “Stand by Me”, Shayne was on his way.
Shayne has always been front and center to help those in need through various charities over the years, so with the
recent global pandemic Covid 19, Shayne wanted to do his part to help. What better way then to use his amazing
voice and talents to record a new version of the classic “Over the Rainbow”. Proceeds will benefit NHS Charities
and their NHS Charities Together program helping staff and volunteers who are caring for Covid-19 patients.

Shayne first performed “Over the Rainbow” during the finale of X Factor ultimately winning the competition with
his stellar rendition. This live version was also included on his self titled debut album. For years Shayne has
received letters from fans everywhere requesting that he do a proper release of the track. What better time to release
it then now and for a special charity.
