Do the Brits live in our heads rent free?

Irish people need to stop obsessing over the British because they don’t think about us a lot.

That’s the view of one Irish Independent Columnist, who believes in this regard, we should take a leaf out of their book.

It comes as anger ensued across social media in recent days, when Kildare Oscar-nominee Paul Mescal was called British by the BBC.

Columnist Frank Coughlan says Irish people shouldn’t take these things so personally:

“Unfortunately we have a tendency to over-react to how they perceive us at any particular moment in time and they don’t think about us at all. In that sense, we should be a bit more like them, we shouldn’t be so concerned by what they think”.
