Someone needs to tell Winter to go home
With parts of the Country still reeling after the widespread mayhem imposed by Storm Emma and the Beast from the East last week, we could certainly use a respite from the horrible weather.
However, most unfortunately and dishearteningly, Met Éireann is forecasting yet another bitterly cold week ahead.
Frost and ice will be widespread, and temperatures will drop below freezing every night this week.
While they have also warned the continuous melting of snow will lead to “treacherous conditions,” due to the accumulation of surface water and the ongoing risk of flooding.
Wednesday will be the worst day of the week, which will see temperatures drop as low as -4C overnight with hail and sleet forecast along with falls of snow on higher ground.
While this is quite bad news, there are preliminary reports that thing might start to warm up in time for Paddy's weekend... so fingers crossed for that!
In the mean time, just hang in there!
