Hon' Donegal!

Donegal Airport has been voted the most scenic place to land in the entire world!

A poll, conducted by PrivateFly, a private jet charter company, ranked the Carrickfinn Airport ahead of some of the most famous airports on earth.

Including New Zealand's Queenstown Airport, Nice Airport in France and Barra Airport in Scotland.

"We're happy out!" said Pauline Sweeney, the airport's marketing manager, speaking to independant.ie. 

"We're so proud to have Donegal Airport on the global stage, so a huge thanks goes out to everyone who took the time to vote."

With the Errigal mountain the right and the majestic Wild Atlantic Way lashing the dotted rocky islands in the sea... Along with the golden sands of Carrickfin beach... it's easy to see why those who voted loved landing at Donegal Airport so much.

"These are the best views in the world," Ms Sweeney added.

"For returning emigrants, it gives them a first taste of home... it's a very special location."

We certainly agree!
