The cancelled show may be offered a lifeline...

Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans were left stunned last night, after the show's network 'Fox' announced it was cancelling the sitcom after a five-season run, sighting 'middling ratings' as the main reason.

And wasn't there a backlash.

The comedy revolving around a group of dysfunctional New York cops has garnered a massive following over the years, even more so since many of the early seasons are now available to re watch endlessly on Netflix.

However! There is hope yet for the series.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Brooklyn Nine-Nine producers Universal Television have fielded a number of incoming calls from other outlets including Hulu, Netflix, and along with network NBC.

Sources told the Reporter that the studio has plans to fight to revive the series at another outlet following the wave of support from fans.

Even big name stars including Lin-Manuel Miranda and Mark Hamill, among countless others have come out in support of the show.

Watch this space! There's hope yet...
