Not much remains of the controversial sign
A giant 'NO' sign erected by Anti-Abortion campaigners early hours of yesterday morning, was last night destroyed in unknown circumstances.
The campaigners in Sligo say their sign on Ben Bulben was 'vandalised' and removed from the mountain last night.
Only some debris from the sign remains on Ben Bulben today.
Speaking to local Radio Station Ocean FM, Tommy Banks, one of the people responsible for the signs construction, said they had received threats from members of the public that the sign would be taken down.
He said: "A threat was made from some of the yes people, one of them came to me and said 'that will come down.'
The sign drew a predominately negative reaction on social media yesterday.
The referendum to decide whether or not the Eighth Amendment will be repealed from the Irish Constitution will take place on next in exactly one week's time on May 25th.
