Ok, maybe that's a little extreme. But it is fair to say it's divided the entire world! But finally, an answer to the mystery has emerged...
And it's not really a matter of Yanny vs Laurel...
It's actually treble vs bass!
This explanation comes to us from all the way Down Under on the Kyle and Jackie O radio show in Sydney.
Speaking on the show, Bruno Bouchet explains why everyone was hearing two different words:
''Whenever you hear a sound there's treble and bass.'' He said.
''In the Treble, there's Laurel that's said. And in the Bass, it's Yanny that's said.''
The show then goes on to demonstrate the experiment. And oh my goodness, it actually works.
