It's that time of year!
Met Éireann has issued a status yellow warning for eight counties as strong winds continue to affect large parts of the country.
The warning is current in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork and Kerry and will remain in force until 1am this morning.
Westerly winds with mean winds of 55 to 65 kilometres per hour and gusts of 100 kilometres per hour are expected along with a risk of coastal flooding in the above mentioned counties.
Met Éireann said: ''Heavy blustery showers with hail and thunder'' will lash coastal counties this evening, with temperatures between 5 and 8 degrees.
While Saturday will be windy again with gusty westerly winds and further heavy showers.
The showers will affect all areas of the country during the day but they will be most frequent across the north and west; many showers will contain hail and thunder, with 8 to 11 degrees.
Sunday will see a slight reprieve however, with some sunny spells and top temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees.
