Gusts of up to 110kmph may hit along coastal counties.
A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for ten counties, valid from 10pm Thursday evening until 9am on Friday morning.
The warning is in effect for the whole of Connacht, with counties Limerick, Kerry, Clare, Donegal and Cavan also affected.
Met Éireann have warned that southwest winds could reach wind speeds of between 55-65km/hr. They have also warned that gusts could potentially reach up to 110km/hr, with coastal counties the worst hit.

The national forecaster says there is a “risk of stormy conditions” developing in the west and north-west on Thursday night, with persistent rain only clearing later in the night. The wet and windy weather is expected to continue into Friday, December 7th, though the wind warning will cease from9am.
