The wildfires are the worst in the history of the US state.
Singer Miley Cyrus and actor Gerard Butler have become the latest celebrities to lose their homes in the California wildfires in which over 30 people have died.
Up to 300,000 people were forced to flee their homes as the worst wildfires in Californian history rage through the US state.
Twenty-five-year-old Cyrus took to Twitter to tell fans the "love of my life", fiancé Liam Hemsworth, and their pets were all safe, but that their home had been destroyed.
Completely devestated by the fires affecting my community. I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now. My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong. I am grateful for

"Completely devestated [sic] by the fires affecting my community," wrote Cyrus. "I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that's all that matters right now. My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong."
Cyrus said she was "grateful for all I have left".
"Sending so much love and gratitude to the firefighters and LA country Sheriff's department!" she added.

300 actor Gerard Butler shared this startling photo, having returned to his Malibu home to find it had been destroyed by the fire:

Blurred Lines singer Robin Thicke and his girlfriend April Love Geary also lost their Malibu home, Geary documenting the damage on Instagram:
Meanwhile, pictures show Caitlyn Jenner’s remote Malibu hilltop home, which was reported to have burnt down has appeared to withstand the fire:
The mansion used for filming of the US versions of the Bachelor and Bachelorette is also thought to be under threat from fire.
The series’ producers issued a statement saying that they do not know the current status of the home.
