Met Éireann has issued a yellow status rain warning for thirteen counties, as the heavens prepare to open overnight tonight.
The warning is set to begin at 2am on Tuesday morning, remaining in place until 2pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Affected counties include Cork, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, Dublin, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Galway and Mayo are told to expect "heavy rainfall later tonight and for a time on Tuesday. 20-30mm is expected to fall over a short period, leading to some surface flooding. Higher totals are expected in mountainous areas."
