A man in his 60s has died following a single car crash on an island off the Mayo coast yesterday evening.
Gardai say the crash occurred on Inishbiggle Island, Achill at around 8:30pm yesterday, when the car veered off the road and entered a lake.
The body of the man has been removed from the scene to Mayo University Hospital where a post-mortem is expected to take place.
The scene of the incident is preserved for a technical examination.
