A 24-year-old man has been found guilty of the 2011 manslaughter of Co Galway publican John Kenny.

Marian Lingurar Jnr of Blackpool, Co Cork, was found guilty of the charge of the unlawful killing of Mr Kenny at Kenny's Bar, Main Street, Oughterard, on 25 September, 2011.

The court heard he had been a bouncer at the bar that night and mobile phone data placed him in the area at the time of the attack.

Mr. Kenny's body was discovered by his wife and daughter, after sustaining a serious assault from the guilty party.

Lingurar Jnr, originally from Romania, was found guilty at Galway Circuirt Court by a jury of seven men and four women in a trial lasted three weeks.

He will reappear before Galway Circuit Criminal Court for sentencing on May 8th.
