A spokesperson for Taoiseach Enda Kenny has hit back at comments from Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin over the government's handling of the flood crisis.
Deputy Martin says Mr Kenny stayed behind closed doors and criticised him for spending so much of the flooding crisis within his home county Mayo.
However the Taoiseach's spokesperson says the Fianna Fáil leader is just "playing politics" with the crisis and says Micheál Martin should not give lectures when he himself stayed in his native Cork.
Sinn Féin has also criticised Enda Kenny for refusing to set up a single authority for the Shannon Basin, with party leader Gerry Adams saying the plans for a co-ordination group did not go far enough.
