The 'special one' is gone.
It was bound to happen sooner rather than later...
And today Manchester United has announced that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect.
A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.
It's the second time Mourinho has been sacked before Christmas in the Premier League, after he was sacked by Chelsea in December 2015.

The sacking comes after United lost 3-1 away at Liverpool over the weekend.
The Red Devils currently sit 6th on the Premier League table, 19 points behind leaders and cross town rivals Manchester City.
Mourinho led United to the Europa League title in 2017, while a second place finish last season was his best domestic result with the club.
