It's been revealed he attempted the break in while in a stupor in the Sugarloaf estate.
The Irish Mirror is reporting that Jastine Valdez's ruthless killer, Mark Hennessy, had tried to enter a Co Wicklow house at 2am just three weeks ago.
A source in Bray, Co Wicklow told the Irish Mirror that Hennessy, made the attempt in a drug and drink-fuelled stupor at the Sugarloaf estate.
They said: “He was banging on the door and the house had an 18-year-old girl in there by herself. She called her boyfriend who came to the scene and gave chase.''
Hennessy then reportedly fled the scene.
The 41-year-old dad-of-two kidnapped and strangled tragic student Jastine Valdez over the weekend, before being shot dead by Gardai.
It's understood the disturbed man was on a drink and drug-fuelled bender in a local pub on the night he murdered Jastine Valdez.
''The most painful goodbye''
Meanwhile a cousin of Jastine Valdez has paid a heartfelt tribute saying "the most painful goodbyes are the one's that are never said and never explained."
The body of Ms Valdez (24) is expected to be repatriated to the Philippines after a post-mortem examination is completed.
It's understood Ms Valdez's family want her funeral to take place in her native city of Aritao where many of her close relatives live. Ms Valdez had lived Philippines up until three years ago when she moved to Ireland.
A vigil was also held in Enniskerry last night., the Wicklow town where Ms Valdez resided.
Meanwhile, support for her family has flooded in from across Ireland, with more than €90,000 raised for the student's family.
