It may only be January but anyone who'd like to do a J1 in America this summer is being advised to begin applying now.
As of 2016 anyone who wants to take part in the scheme must have a job set up before they can be approved for a visa.
A number of sponsor companies have connected with the US embassy in Ireland and several pre-approved jobs are now available.
Embassy spokesperson, Lauren Lovelace, has said the jobs being offered have been vetted and approved by the embassy. There will also be jobs fairs online and at the embassy in the coming months.
