Could all the Michaels and Sarahs please be extra careful?
According to insurance company World Nomads, those with the first names Michael and Sarah are statistically more likely to be caught in a travel mishap and need to make a travel insurance claim.
WorldNomads.com has gone over its data from the past five years and discovered 10 per cent of all insurance claims came from people with the same 10 names.
Those are Michael, David, Matthew, Andrew, Daniel, Peter, Sarah, Thomas and Jessica.
“Are Michaels and Sarahs inherently more adventurous? Who knows?” World Nomads travel safety expert Phil Sylvester said.
“If you’re thinking of starting a family and want them to be safe when they venture out into the world, you should consider giving them a different name.”
According to five years of data from World Nomads, the male names that are most often attached to insurance claims are:
• Michael
• David
• Matthew
• Andrew
• Christopher
• James
• Daniel
• Peter
• Thomas
• Paul
And the female names include:
• Sarah
• Jessica
• Emma
• Rebecca
• Kate or Katherine
• Emily
• Hannah
• Elizabeth
• Nicole or Nicola
• Laura
The people to make the fewest claims? They are Yael, Kazia, Sylvie, Sunny, Saxon, Wilfried, Yolanda, Dakota, Zara and Tobi.
