"I gotta drive safer".

UFC fighter Conor McGregor has been banned from the roads for six months today and fined €1000.

McGregor (30) faced four road traffic charges at Naas District Court today, including speeding, driving without a licence, failing to produce a licence at the scene and failing to subsequently produce it at a garda station.

He was stopped by gardaí on the N7 at Blackchurch, Kill, Co Kildare on 11 October last year.

When the case was called today the State withdrew all three charges relating to the driving licence and he pleaded guilty to the speeding offence, driving at 154km/h in 100km/h zone.

Afterwards he said "I gotta drive safer".
