Met Éireann warn heavy rain can cause flooding in some areas
If the latest forecast from Met Éireann is anything to go by, this weekend will be dramatically different to what we've become accustomed to over the past few months.
Rain will begin sweeping across the western half of the Country as soon as this evening, bringing with it much cooler conditions of around 17-21 degrees on Friday.
Temperatures will drop even further across the country on Saturday, ranging between 15-19 degrees, but the conditions will be bright.
Whereas Sunday will be a notch higher, with top temperatures of 17-22 degrees.
However, ''Persistent rain,” is going to be a constant feature all weekend long apparently, according to Met Éireann forecaster Gerry Murphy.
“The best conditions will be if the rainfall is moderate,” he told the Irish Independent.
“Although the rain will help alleviate the water crisis, heavy rain can cause flooding in some areas because it’s been dry for so long.”
He also warned that even though the last few days have been warm, conditions for the next week are expected to get “cooler” across the country.
Great news for those suffering the water shortage! But let's hope none of this flooding business comes to fruition.
