If these two can't make it work, how are we meant to still believe in true love?

We're sorry to have to break  this to you, but dream couple Amanda Teague, 46, from Drogheda, Co. Louth, and a 300-year-old Pirate ghost named Jack have split.

Amanda and the transparent Haitian pirate wed earlier this year.

The wedding to her ‘soulmate’ took place on board a boat in international waters off the Irish coast.

But sadly, the Irish Mirror reports the couple have called turned their separate ways after less than 12 months.

Taking to social media, Amanda said: “So I feel it’s time to let everyone know that my marriage is over.

“I will explain all in due course but for now all I want to say is be VERY careful when dabbling in spirituality, it’s not something to mess with.”

The split continues a run of rotten luck for Jack, who was reportedly executed for theft in the 1700s.

Maybe true love just doesn't exist anymore...
