There are just over three weeks to go until we will head to the polls to elect the 32nd Dáil.
The 31st Dáil was dissolved this morning with Enda Kenny confirming that voting will take place on Friday February 26th.
He has told Fine Gael candidates and supporters that his party will outline its detailed, independently costed, long term economic plan to voters over the next three weeks.
He says his party has a proven record of progress but there are still challenges ahead.
Meanwhile Fianna Fáil leader Micheal Martin says the current Government's policies have deeply angered the less well-off in Irish society.
He has accused Fine Gael and Labour of misleading the public since 2011.
Deputy Martin has launched his party's general election campaign today - he has claimed this government has tried to take money off people who simply do not have it.
